“…ஜெபத்திலே உறுதியாய்த் தரித்திருங்கள்.” - ரோமர்.12:12
பிரிட்டனில் பிறந்த ஜான் சார்லஸ் ரைல் என்பவர் ஒரு சிறந்த தேவ பக்தன். இவர் மிக அருமையான ஆவிக்குரிய நூல்கள் பலவற்றை எழுதியுள்ளார். அவற்றுள் “நீ ஜெபிக்கின்றாயா” என்ற தலைப்பிலுள்ள செய்தியின் சுருக்கத்தை இன்று காண்போம்.
நீ ஆலய ஆராதனையில் வாரந்தோறும் பங்கு பெறுகின்றாயா இல்லையா என்பதை உன் சபைப்போதகர் அறிவார். நீ குடும்ப ஜெபம் செய்கிறாயா இல்லையா என்பதை உன் வீட்டார் அறிவார்கள். ஆனால் நீ தனிமையில் ஜெபிக்கிறாயா இல்லையா என்பது உனக்கும் உன் ஆண்டவருக்கும் மாத்திரமே தெரியும் காரியமாகும்.
ஒரு மனிதன் மற்றொரு மனிதனுக்காக சாப்பிடவோ, குடிக்கவோ, தூங்கவோ முடியாது. அதுபோல உனக்காக மற்றொரு மனிதன் தேவனோடு உறவு கொள்ளமுடியாது. ஜெபிக்காமல் தேவனை நீ எவ்வாறு அறிந்துகொள்வாய்? கட்டாயம் ஜெபிக்கவேண்டும்.
ஜெபமின்றி வாசிக்கும் வேத வாசிப்பு, ஜெபமின்றி கேட்கும் பிரசங்கங்கள், ஜெபமின்றி ஒழுங்கு செய்யப்பட்ட திருமணங்கள், ஜெபமின்றி மேற்கொண்ட பிரயாணங்கள், ஜெபமின்றி தெரிந்துகொண்ட தோழமைகள்... போன்றவை ஒரு மனிதன் பின்மாற்றமடைவதற்கும், ஆவிக்குரிய வாழ்வில் பெரும் வீழ்ச்சியடைவதற்கும் அப்பட்டமான காரணங்களாகும்.
“ஒரு மனிதன் ஜெபிக்கவில்லையெனில் அவன் ஒரு உண்மையான கிறிஸ்தவன் இல்லை. அவன் தன் பாவங்களைக் குறித்து உணர்ச்சியற்றவன். அவனால் தேவனை நேசிக்க முடியாது. தான் கிறிஸ்து இயேசுவுக்கு அன்புக்கடனாளி என்ற தியாகமான உணர்ச்சிப்பெருக்கு அவனிடம் இருக்கமுடியாது. அவனால் பரிசுத்தத்தை வாஞ்சித்து கதறவும் முடியாது.”
அநேக பின்மாற்றங்களுக்கான காரணம் யாது? தனி ஜெப வாழ்வை அசட்டை பண்ணியதே பிரதான காரணமாகும். பின்மாற்றக்காரன் தவறி விழுந்த இடத்தைப் பற்றிய “சரித்திரம்” உண்மையில் கடைசிநாள் வரை தெரியாது.
தனிஜெபமற்ற போக்குதான், தாமதித்துக் கொண்டிருக்கக்கூடிய லோத்துகளையும், உறுதியற்ற சிம்சோன்களையும், முரண்பாடான ஆசாக்களையும், உலகத்தோடு வளைந்து போகும் யோசபாத்துகளையும், அநேக உலக காரியங்களைக் குறித்து கவலைப்படுகிற மார்த்தாள்களையும் உருவாக்கியுள்ளது. ஆ, இது துயரம்!!
என் சிநேகிதனே! ஜெபமின்றி இருப்பது தேவனின்றி இருப்பதாகும். அது கிருபையின்றி இருப்பதாகும். அது நம்பிக்கையின்றி இருப்பதாகும். நீ ஜெபிக்கின்றாயா?
நண்பனே! நீ ஒரு உண்மை கிறிஸ்தவனானால், “நான் ஜெபிக்கின்றேனா” என்ற கேள்வியை எப்பொழுதும் உன்னிடம் கேட்டுக்கொள்.

Your Pastor knows, whether you attended the church regularly or not. Your family members know, whether you have family prayer or not. But you alone know, whether you pray alone to God or not. That is known only to God and you.
A person can’t eat or drink or sleep for another man. Just like that one cannot have contact with God for you. With our praying how can you know God? You must pray.
Bible reading with out prayer, listening to messages with out prayer, Marriages arranged without prayer, Marriages arranged without prayer, journey undertaken with out prayer, will lead to failure and back slide of a person. These are the reasons for the fall of the spiritual life of a person.
If a person doesn’t pray means he is not a true Christian. Such person has no feelings of his sins. He cannot love our Lord. He never feels accountable to the scarified love of our Lord Jesus Christ. He never longs for holiness.
What is the reason for the back sliding? The main reason is ignoring the personal prayer life. No body will know the history of the fall of the back slider.
This lack of personal prayer life is the cause for many lazy Lots, unfirm Samsons, differing Asas , Josaphaths following worldly things, Marthas who worry about the worldly work. This is really sad!
Dear friends, living without prayer is living without God. That is living with out grace, and without hope. Do you pray? If you are a true Christian ask yourself daily, “Do I Pray”?
