*ஏசாவின் அசட்டை!*
*"அதற்கு ஏசா, இதோ, நான் சாகப்போகிறேனே; இந்தச் சேஷ்ட புத்திர பாகம் எனக்கு என்னத்திற்கு என்றான்"* (ஆதி. 25:32).
எதைத் தெரிந்துகொள்வது? சேஷ்ட புத்திர பாகத்தையா? அல்லது ஒருவேளை வயிறார உண்ணும் உணவையா? அன்றைக்கு ஈசாக்கின் மூத்த குமாரனாகிய ஏசா, அப்பத்தையும், பயற்றங் கூழையுமே, தெரிந்துகொண்டார். சேஷ்ட புத்திர பாகத்தையோ, அசட்டைப் பண்ணினார். "இதோ, நான் சாகப்போகிறேனே. இந்தச் சேஷ்ட புத்திர பாகம் எனக்கு என்னத்திற்கு?" என்றார்.
ஒரே தாயின் வயிற்றில் பிறந்து, இரட்டைப்பிள்ளைகளாய் இருந்தபோதிலும், ஏசா-யாக்கோபின் தெரிந்துகொள்ளுதல், வித்தியாசமாகவே இருந்தது. ஏசா இம்மைக்குரிய வாழ்க்கை வாழ்ந்து, சேஷ்ட புத்திர பாகத்தை, அசட்டை செய்தார். யாக்கோபோ, சேஷ்ட புத்திர பாகத்தின்மேலும், தேவ ஆசீர்வாதங்கள் மேலும் பசிதாகமாயிருந்தார்.
விசுவாசிகளின் தெரிந்துகொள்ளுதலை, இரண்டு பாகமாக பிரிக்கலாம். ஒரு சாரார் உலகப் பிரகாரமானவைகளையே தெரிந்துகொள்கிறார்கள். பணத்தை, புகழை, உலக மேன்மையை, அதிகாரத்தை, ஆளுகையை தெரிந்துகொண்டு இம்மைக்காகவே வாழ்கிறார்கள். ஆனால் இன்னொரு கூட்டத்தாரோ, கர்த்தர்மேல் அன்பு வைத்து, அவருடைய பாதத்தில் காத்திருந்து, ஆவிக்குரிய ஆசீர்வாதங்களை தெரிந்துகொள்கிறார்கள்.
ஏசாவுக்கும் பசி. யாக்கோபுக்கும் பசி. யாக்கோபு தன் பசியை ஆற்றும்படி அப்பம் சுட்டு, பயற்றங்கூழை ஆயத்தம் பண்ணிக்கொண்டிருந்தார். ஏசா தன் சேஷ்ட புத்திர பாகத்தை அலட்சியம் செய்ததற்கு, தன்னுடைய பசியையே சாக்காகக் கூறினார். "பசியினால் நான் சாகப்போகிறேனே" என்றார். சாதாரணமாக ஒரு மனிதன் எந்த உணவுமில்லாமல், ஏறக்குறைய எண்பது நாளளவும் உயிரோடு வாழலாம். அநேகர் நாற்பது நாட்கள் உபவாசமிருந்து, பசியைப் பொருட்படுத்தாமல் ஜெபித்து, கர்த்தருக்காக பெரிய காரியங்களைச் செய்திருக்கிறார்கள். மோசே, எலியா போன்ற பக்தர்களெல்லாம், நாற்பது நாட்கள் உபவாசமிருக்கவில்லையா? இயேசுகிறிஸ்து தன்னுடைய ஊழியத்தை ஆரம்பித்தபோது, புசியாமலும், குடியாமலும், நாற்பது நாட்கள், கர்த்தருடைய சமுகத்திலே அமர்ந்திருக்கவில்லையா?
உலகத்தில் பிறக்கிற ஒவ்வொருவருக்கும் பசிதாகமுண்டு. நீங்கள் பசியோடிருந்தால், கர்த்தர் உங்களுக்கு வானத்தின் மன்னாவைத் தருவார். நீங்கள் தாகமாயிருந்தால், பேரின்ப நதியினால் தாகம் தீர்ப்பார். "நீதியின்மேல் பசிதாகமுள்ளவர்கள், பாக்கியவான்கள். அவர்கள் திருப்தியடைவார்கள்" (மத். 5:6).
இன்றைக்கு கிறிஸ்தவர்களில் அநேகம் பேருக்கு கர்த்தருடைய காரியங்கள்மேல் பசிதாகமில்லை. கடமைக்காக வேதம் வாசிப்பு, கடமைக்காக ஜெபம், கடமைக்காக ஆலயம் செல்லுதல் வழக்கமாகிவிட்டது. யாக்கோபைப்போல, கர்த்தருடைய பாதத்தைப் பற்றிக் கொண்டு இரவெல்லாம், "என்னை ஆசீர்வதியும் ஆண்டவரே" என்று கெஞ்சி ஜெபிக்கும், பசிதாகமில்லை (ஆதி. 32:26).
தேவபிள்ளைகளே, ஆண்டவர் பட்சபாதமுள்ளவரல்ல. யார் யார் பசிதாகத்தோடு அவரை நேசித்து தேடுகிறார்களோ, அவர்கள் இம்மைக்குரிய ஆசீர்வாதங்களையும், ஆவிக்குரிய ஆசீர்வாதங்களையும் சுதந்தரித்துக்கொள்வார்கள்.
நினைவிற்கு:- *"தேவனே, நீர் என்னுடைய தேவன்; அதிகாலமே உம்மைத் தேடுகிறேன்; வறண்டதும் விடாய்த்ததும் தண்ணீரற்றதுமான நிலத்திலே என் ஆத்துமா உம்மேல் தாகமாயிருக்கிறது"* (சங். 63:1).

*ESAU'S DESPISE!*
*And Esau said, “Look, I am about to die; so what is this birthright to me?”* (Genesis 25:32)
Which one to choose? The birthright or the one time feast? Esau, the eldest son of Isaac chose the bread with a stew of lentils and thus despised the birthright. He said, “Look, I am about to die; so what is this birthright to me?”
Though Esau and Jacob were twins, their choice differed from each other. Esau preferred a mundane Life and neglected the birthright. But Jacob was filled with hunger and thirst over the birthright and divine blessings.
The choice of the believers could be classified into two kinds. One group chooses only the worldly ones. They live for the present and prefer wealth, fame, worldly greatness, power and authority. But the other group set their love over God, wait on His feet and choose the spiritual blessings.
Both Esau and Jacob were hungry. Jacob was preparing bread and stew of lentils to make good his hunger. Esau cited his hunger as a lame excuse and treated his birthright with disdain. He said that he was about to die due to hunger. Generally, a man can survive without any food for around eighty days. Many have done great things for God by fasting and praying without minding the hunger. Did not the devotees like Moses and Elijah fast for forty days? Did not Jesus sit in the presence of God for forty days without eating or drinking, in the beginning of His ministry?
Everyone who takes birth in the world will have hunger and thirst. If you are hungry, God will provide you the heavenly manna. If you are thirsty He will give you drink from the river of bliss.
“Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled” (Mathew 5:6).
Today, many among the Christians do not have hunger and thirst for things of divinity. Reading of Scripture, Praying and attending Church services have become customary rituals for them. Jacob caught hold of God’s feet and pleaded for the whole night saying “I will not let you go unless you bless me” (Genesis 32:26). Such prayer of hunger and thirst are not seen among many Christians.
Dear children of God, our Lord is not partial towards anyone. All those who love and seek Him with hunger and thirst will receive both the blessings of the world as well as Spiritual blessings.
To meditate : *“O God, you are my God; early will I seek You; my soul thirsts for you; my flesh longs for you in a dry and thirsty land where there is no water.”* (Psalm 63:1)
